Poem: Don’t go Wasting Emotions

This one has quite a bit of back story! I finished this poem on June 12th 2012 and it has been lingering where I can see it almost every day..

This is a poem i wrote as time has gone by and i kept adding to it when something happened. And I know whom this is about, and near the end it shows I am with someone when it’s actually a bunch of people but this one person, whom is not a person at all, I mention has my full attention. It’s interesting how this poem moves along and how I ended it different.

I ask myself.
On repeat…
How did I find myself at this spot again?
Although I always know the answer.
A meeting of sorts..
I beg of you..
Do not go wasting all your emotions.
I hear myself say..
Staring back from the mirror.

It has been some time now.
I do not find myself at that spot anymore..
Thoughts find their way back rarely.
There is someone else now.
I know it..
Now I am ready..
He questions…
Pick it up.
Don’t stop, Push it now.
I beg of you..
Do not go wasting all your emotions.
I hear myself say..
Staring back from the mirror.

Find myself busy all of a sudden…
What happen to the free time?
Cause, cause you tease me…
I like it that way..
Do you want to dance?
Don’t stop..
My thoughts full..
Although I crave more..
You are still there taken shelter..
However, I want you to vanish from the face of the earth.
Don’t stop..
He lingers in the back of my mind….
I beg of you..

I hear myself say..
Staring back from the mirror.

I say goodbye for the last time.
A one-sided moment.
I smile happily like it’s nothing..
Anxiety kicks in and beats me to a pulp.
Nevertheless, I am stronger than that.
He smiles,
as he says something corny.
I beg of you..

I hear myself say..

Bright lights fill my vision..
Where am I?
I smile because…
I know you’re not here.
I smile because..
I’m with him.
Because..
I’m his princess.
I beg of you..
Do not go wasting all your emotions.
I hear myself whisper..
As he stands in-front of me playing his guitar.
